BackerKit Survey Guide: Let’s Get Started!

The first wave of surveys—called the smoke test—have been sent out! This step ensures BackerKit is functioning properly before we send surveys to all backers.

The smoke test involves sending surveys to 5% of backers, chosen at random. If you don't receive one during this process, your survey will go out soon shortly after once we've confirmed everything is working as expected.

When you receive your survey, we ask that you complete it as soon as possible to help us prepare production counts and keep delivery on schedule. Our goal is to have at least 80% of surveys completed by December 20th (within the next 10 days), so we can finalize production counts and avoid delays in fulfillment.

Even after submitting your survey, you’ll be able to go back and update your responses, including selections, add-ons, and your shipping address, until February 2025.

How to Complete Your Survey

Step 1: Get Started

• When you receive your survey email from BackerKit, click the link and select your country for shipping. Then click “Get Started.”
• Want to switch to a different pledge tier? Click "Switch your Pledge Level" link below the “Get Started” button to make the change. 

Step 2: Choose Your Options

• Follow the prompts to select your dice designs and any other choices for your pledge.

Step 3: Add-Ons

• The Add-On store shows your included pledge items on the right side of the screen. On the left, you can browse and add optional items. Payments for add-ons, shipping, and applicable taxes won't be processed until closer to the fulfillment date in 2025.
• Once you've selected all the items you want, click "Next".

Step 4: Enter Your Shipping Address

• Provide your shipping information and click “Next.” 

Step 5: Review and Confirm

• Review your information, add a payment method, and click "Place My Order" to finalize your survey.

Step 6: Complete Your Survey

• You will see a confirmation message once you have completed the survey!

Commonly Asked Questions on BackerKit Surveys

• How long do I have to complete the survey?
  Surveys should be completed by December 20th to help us finalize production counts and stay on schedule for fulfillment. However, you’ll still be able to make changes, such as updating your selections or shipping address, until closer to the fulfillment date.
   
• When will I be charged for shipping and add-ons?
  We will calculate shipping fees and applicable taxes closer to the fulfillment date. This allows us to account for accurate carrier rates and final package weight, ensuring you pay only what’s necessary for your rewards to reach you. We will notify you before any charges are made.
   
• Do I need a BackerKit account to fill out the survey?
  You do not need to create a BackerKit account to fill out your survey. When you receive the survey invite email, click the survey link to respond.
   
• Can I upgrade my pledge through the survey?
  Yes! When you get your survey, click the "Switch your Pledge Level" link below the “Get Started” button to make the change.
   
• My payment didn’t go through and I was dropped from the Kickstarter. What do I do?
  Don’t worry! You’ll still receive the BackerKit survey and can pay for your pledge there.
   
• What if I need to update my survey?
  You can return to your survey anytime by clicking the link in your survey email or requesting your survey link under "Lost your survey?" on our BackerKit project page: https://cathedraldice.backerkit.com/
   
• Can I add more items items after completing my survey?
  Yes! You can revisit your survey and add items or make changes until surveys are locked in February 2025.
   
• I used an Apple ID private relay I didn't receive the survey, what do I do?
  After surveys are sent, if you did not receive the email, and you Signed in with Apple ID, your email address might be a private relay email address. If this applies to you, message us on Kickstarter or email us at [email protected] with your Backer ID or pledge number, and we’ll update your survey email address.
   
• I missed the campaign. When will pre-orders be open? 
  Pre-orders are now live! If a friend missed the campaign, share this link so they can join in! https://cathedraldice.backerkit.com/hosted_preorders.Pre-orders are not Kickstarter pledges and will ship after we fulfill backer rewards.

What to Expect:

• Completing the Survey: The survey will guide you through confirming your pledge details, selecting any preferences, and providing your shipping information. You'll also have the opportunity to purchase additional items if you'd like.

Payment Processing: 

Kickstarter will now begin processing payments, a process that can take several weeks to complete. Please ensure your payment method is up to date to avoid any issues.

Surveys and the Pledge Manager:

Once payment processing is complete, we’ll send out surveys via BackerKit to finalize your reward preferences including selecting Cathedrals and add-ons. Through the survey, you’ll have the opportunity to:

• Enter and confirm your shipping information.
• Upgrade your pledge.
• Select the Cathedrals you wish to add to your collection.
• Add additional items to your pledge, such as extra dice sets or add-ons.

Survey Timeline:

Surveys will open on Monday, December 9th. As we get closer to releasing surveys, we’ll provide detailed instructions on how to fill them out. Most questions will be answered in the instructions, so we recommend waiting until surveys are sent before reaching out.
